So, I have to say that the most exciting thing that happened in February was Alan's very first legitimate pin in wrestling! He had one other pin during the season, but that was during a meet with a guy who was in a lower weight class. This one was totally legit!!!! I have to give Alan tons of credit for trying wrestling for the very fist time as a Freshman!! It's tough starting a sport in high school--all the other wrestlers had years of experience! I didn't even count all the times he was pinned, but he kept practicing and participating and doing his best. So, you'll understand when I say that I was video taping his match and was so excited when he won that I started cheering and I hit the button on the camera too soon and didn't get the referee slapping the mat or the referee holding Alan's hand in the air to signal that he had won the match!! UGH!!! (I didn't get a picture of it either--FAIL!) But here's the video....
Then Alan decided to teach himself how to shave. So how does he do that you may ask......well, he looks it up on some Wiki site of course!!! What?!? Wiki?!? Man, what is life coming to?!?
He totally didn't tell me he was doing this so I missed the before picture, but here's the after picture...
Then we had some fun with food moments.....here's the funky strawberry--we LOVE funky strawberries!! : )
Then there was Nathan's "moon" bowl of cereal!! Ha! Ha! Love it!!
Then Scott had a band concert--sounding better every time! He's a percussionist.
If Blogger will cooperate maybe I can upload a video of one of the songs. Yeah, I can't, the video is too long to transfer to a form the blog will accept with a free trial version of software. (And I'm not paying for the software--sorry!)
Oh my gosh, I can't forget the Valentine's Day festivities. Alan decided to make some fudge for his, uhm, girlfriend. I think this was the first time (or one of the first times) he's made fudge and you have to stir it for 5 minutes, which those of us who make fudge on a regular basis knows is nothing! So, there's my 15 year old, wrestling, working-out son acting like his arm is going to fall off after stirring for like 2 minutes!
Then when I told him I was going to post that picture, he gave me a much better face!!
And actually those pictures were of the re-make, because he TOTALLY jacked up the first batch of fudge that he made all on his own (can't remember where I was!!) But the fist batch wouldn't set up, so he decided to cook it some more (yes, after it had cooled and everything)!!! He ended up with a brick!! It was so hard he couldn't even cut it (or even chip a piece off!!)!!! Ha! Ha! I threw the knife at it, like you would throw a knife at a board, and it totally stuck!! HA! HA! HA! It was the funniest, saddest thing I've every seen!!
Next, funny story.....every year, I make this big heart sugar cookies for the boys and write on them--like the candy hearts. So, this year I was handing out their cookies and Nathan was reading them as I was handing them out. He got Alan's right (I think) and he got Scott's right, but then when he got his he says "Sweat boy?!? What the heck Mom?!?" HA! HA! HA! We all started laughing so hard that it took us a few minutes to correct him!! HA! HA! HA!
We were still laughing when I was taking these pictures--I had to take several of Alan because he was laughing so hard that I couldn't get a good smile! You can see Nathan was still laughing too!! It was too funny!! There was one cookie left over so Alan claimed it for his girlfriend. He agonized about what to write on it. I think he did good! : )
(I'm also not sure I'm ready for this girlfriend stuff!!)
And there you have February!! I may get caught up yet!!
